North Central Impact is thrilled to welcome back Hayley Runnalls into the NCI program as the 2021-22 U18AA Head Coach.
As a student-athlete for MacEwan University, Hayley’s playing career was cut short due to injury. She turned her passion for the game toward coaching and was selected by Hockey Alberta to train in their 2015 Future Leaders Program - a program designed to train and mentor post- secondary students in the area of coaching. In 2018-19, Hayley joined North Central Impact as an Assistant Coach followed by a year in an AC position with the NAX Female Midget Prep Team. Hayley continued to hone her coaching skills under Hockey Alberta’s mentorship as an Assistant Coach in the 2019 Alberta Challenge and 2020 Alberta Winter Games where her teams won Gold and Silver, respectively. In 2020, Hayley stepped away from the elite female hockey stream to work as a hockey coach for FreePlay for Kids, a local organization focused on bringing free access to sport for youth-at-risk in our community. Throughout these years of coach experience and training, Hayley has developed a deep concern for keeping girls in sport and is being proactive regarding athlete mental health.
Professionally, Hayley will graduate from the University of Alberta Bachelor of Education program in December 2021 and is looking forward to starting her career as an elementary school teacher.
Please join NCI in welcoming Coach Hayley. We look forward to Watching Her Impact grow.
