AA Roughnecks - U18AA

Graduating Players

Blake Remo

I want to thank my coaches, Yellowknife minor hockey, Leduc minor hockey, and my parents for a dream come true. Minor hockey has been a great time, I've improved, made many friends, and unforgettable memories. My favourite memory would be attending the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island and the success my team is having this year. My parents have helped me succeed throughout the whole way.

Cole Goodman

Cole Goodman began playing hockey at five years old with the Thorsby Thunder. He stated playing AA in Leduc in his second year of Peewee and has grown into a dedicated and adaptable player over the years as both a forward and defensemen. As the oldest of three boys, there was never a shortage of basement mini sticks, front yard ODR battles, and shinny bragging rights throughout the past decade.

One of Cole's favourite memories from his years of hockey is winning the Sun Peaks tournament this season. He also spent several spring seasons playing with the Grizzlies, where he won the Stampede Challenge tournament. As Cole nears the end of his final season of minor hockey, he's looking ahead to the future with plans to pursue a career in the trades, taking with him the skills, discipline, and teamwork hockey has helped build.

Ethan Gariepy

Ethan's hockey journey has come full circle in Leduc. He began in Leduc Minor Hockey, where his love for the game took shape, and went on to compete at the AAA level and represent his region at the Alberta Cup - milestones that reflect his dedication and growth. Now finishing his minor hockey career where it all started, Ethan leaves a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and community pride. We congratulate him on an outstanding career and wish him continued success in the next chapter.

Evan Bencharski

Evan has had a rich minor hockey career spanning 11 years, playing his entire career at LMHA. His passion for the sport also led him to play AA in Leduc for the last 4 seasons. Throughout his journey, Evan is thankful for the great coaches he has had who have helped strengthen his game and motivated him to keep working hard, both on and off the ice. Looking ahead, Evan hopes to continue his hockey journey by playing junior hockey in the coming years and complete a Journeyman in Electrical.

Gavin Palmer

Gavin Palmer started pre-novice hockey in Millet in the 2012-2013 season, and despite that explosive speed he shows today, he was a "skateboarder skater" who didn't lift his left foot off the ice until well into his first year. He played in Millet until 2019-2020 season when he cracked the lineup for the Peewee U13AA team as a rookie. In every year since, he's been fortunate to be welcomed by so many great teammates as he's played in LMHA's AA program ever since (except U16AA, which he played in Beaumont). His favourite memory of hockey was being a part of the U18AA team that brought home gold from Sun Peaks' outdoor tourney earlier this year. After minor hockey, Gavin hopes to pursue a career in Physiotherapy while playing Junior or Sr hockey.

Jayden Lemay

Hockey has been a huge part of our lives, and watching Jayden grow through the game has been incredibly special. He began his hockey journey with Smoky River Minor Hockey, where he had the opportunity to affiliate with his older brother's team ending in a provincial championship, the first for Smoky River in 20 years. After relocating due to his dad's job, he continued his hockey path with Leduc Minor Hockey. He has grown not only as a player but also as a teammate and a young man. He learned the value of hard work, dedication, and commitment. We are so proud of everything hockey has given him and the person it continues to shape him into.

Kingston Smith

Apart from the 2020 Covid year and the U16AA in 2023/24, Kingston played out his minor hockey years within Leduc Minor Hockey. During his time in minor hockey, which started in 2012, Kingston has great memories to look back on, which included an outdoor game
at Lake Louise, a game at Rogers Place in 2018, and just this past year playing in the Sun Peaks Outdoor Classic, a tournament which his team won. Kingston would play out his minor hockey years in the AA stream at U15/U16 and U18. At the time of writing, the U18AA team in Leduc is ranked #1 in the AEHL Provincial rankings. Over the years, Kingston made new friendships which will last a lifetime. He would like to say Thank You to the many teammates, numerous coaches/managers/trainers who put countless hours into making minor hockey enjoyable and rewarding.

What does the future hold? Maybe junior somewhere, maybe just playing on the ODRs with his buddies but just because minor hockey ends, doesn’t mean playing hockey has to stop.

Walter Spila

My favourite memories of Hockey are the tournaments, hotels and hanging out with the team. My favourite tournament was the Sun Peaks Classic this year, where my team won gold. I also want to thank all the coaches I have had throughout my years in LMHA for making me the player I am.
