A GUIDE-LINE FOR COACHES / MANAGERS
Each year, the main users of the four arenas sign a contract with the City of Leduc, which includes the cost of ice and the amount of ice time that the association will receive for the season.
It is the responsibility of the LMHA's Ice Scheduler to schedule all of the ice allocated. The ice time is allocated to both practice and game slots.
The ice scheduler must coordinate all of the league schedules for the teams that play in leagues. League schedules are set up by a member of each respective league and then passed on to the LMHA to fit into our allotted time.
THE FOLLOWING POLICIES APPLY:
If a team wishes to make a change in their schedule, the coach (or manager) must notify the ice scheduler. No changes are permitted to be made by any coach or manager. The LMHA ice scheduler is the only person authorized to make any changes. This means that no coach may trade ice times with another coach under any circumstances. Changing game times to an earlier or later time, or to a different arena will not be considered. The ice scheduler will do the best possible job to accommodate a team's request, as long as proper notice is given when a change is requested.
Should a team wish to cancel a scheduled ice time (either practice or game time), the ice scheduler must be given AT LEAST twenty five (25) days notice to do so. This gives just enough time to ask the City to re-sell the ice if no other team wishes to pick it up. If the twenty five (25) days notice is not given to the ice scheduler and no other teams are interested in the time, then the team wishing to cancel the original time must reimburse LMHA from their team account.
If a team wishes to attend a tournament that is out of town, and they have a scheduled game in Leduc that is in conflict, the ice time for that game must be given back to the scheduler. Ice time to replace this game is not guaranteed, therefore the team must understand that they may have to forfeit the game in the event no other ice becomes available. The ice scheduler must be notified twenty five (25) days in advance for a game slot, in order that the open ice slot may be rescheduled. LMHA will not be responsible for ice costs for reschedule league games, due to tournaments, if ice has to be taken outside of LMHA ice slots.
If any team does not show up for their scheduled ice slot, be it a practice or a game slot, their team account will be charged with the cost of the missed ice slot and will be treated as extra ice used. Any additional costs incurred by a (no show÷ such as referee costs will also be billed to the team account.
The Leduc Minor Hockey ice schedule is available on the website and will be updated on a regular basis.
